Nicholas Schwartz

Nicholas SchwartzNick Schwartz is a PhD student in the English department. He is currently working on his dissertation, tentatively titled "God's Proving Ground: Wulfstan, the Anglo-Saxon Past, and the Creation of an Ideal England." This project aims to show that Wulfstan, Archbishop of York actively engaged with the history of his land--some of which he invented--in an attempt to mold his present Anglo-Saxon England into an ideal Christian kingdom. His other interests include Old English Prose and Anglo-Saxon Law.
